Beau Navire x Siq Shit
…happy Friday! today, i bring you an exclusive brand new song by BEAU NAVIRE titled “Prisms”; this song will be featured on their upcoming full-length record titled “Lumens”, which is due out early this Summer. if you know what’s up and you heard their last record “Hours”, then you will like these new jams for sure. more pissed. more louder.
“Lumens” will be released on vinyl courtesy of Inkblot Records, Moment Of Collapse Records and React With Protest Records.
thanks again to the homies in Beau Navire for getting me the track. this is the only spot (as of now) that you can catch a new BN track, so play that shit and play that shit loud, all weekend. throw it on a mix. show it to a homie. do what you gotta do to get that hype-train going. new BN full-length coming very soon.
spread word and REBLOG.
Oh shit, new Beau Navire is dooope.
Is that right?
First off, new Beau Navire is of course exciting, BUT ALSO as an added bonus, check out my pal Stefan’s review of BN’s new split at the link below.
Beau Navire - Ghostlike
Now is the opportune time to look back and laugh. A subtle attempt to cast aside our fear. Walking through heavy fog following footsteps lost long ago. Silence is my treatment for discontent. Discontent, life long discontent. Ghostlike… all of us. Are we unique or are we transparent? Longing for new directions.
Well fuck me. Beau Navire did it again. The new split 7” with Republic of Dreams is beyond anything. I wrote a little review here.
My homie Julien from The Discord of a Forgotten Sketch interviewed Jon from Beau Navire for his blog. Peep game.
1- where are you from?Beau Navire is from Oakland, California. But we almost all of us have moved here at various times in our lives except Sean hes from the bay.I mainly play bass and do vocals and write lyrics along with Trei.
2- what do you do in the band?Well as usual we are writing for another LP in time for summer. But currently we are waiting on the finished copies of the split with Republic Of Dreams from Germany. Also Clue #2 from Canada is going to release a vinyl version of our demo cassette very soon! Alongside of that we are playing a few shows next month with our friends in Dangers and Conquest For Death in the bay area! Also in June we are doing a tour in Canada/East Coast with We Were Skeletons.
3- what are your upcoming projects?hmmm. That in the two years of being a band we have written forty two songs and are bouncing around ideas for five or six right now.
4- tell us something that we don’t know but should know about your band.Current bands I am really into are Psyched To Die, Dear Landlord, Damages, Sailing On, Beyond Pink and Wet Witch. Today I’ve listened to mainly Roll Deep(Uk Grime from the late 2000’s), Earth Crisis, Negative Standards, Wild Moth and No Warning as well.
5- what bands do you like these days? what have you listened to today? This list could go on forever but ill try and keep it brief. Bands im really proud to be friends with are Damages, Sailing On, Lord Snow, Coma, Holy and Negative Standards! As for labels: React With Protest, Inkblot, A Mountain Far, Bear Records, Melotov, Olhar De Vidro, Texas Toast Diy, Kyeo Speaks, Black with Sap, Radical Friends, Moment Of Collapse and Shove Records!
6- do you have friends in bands or who run labels/zines that we should know about?I am in a band because “this is the life we chose”. Back when I was 16 in high school in Virginia Beach, VA. I was in gym class and my friend Thomas came up to me and said “You like Nirvana and shit like that but check this out” and proceeded to play ‘Destroy What Destroys You’ by Against All Authority. In that moment I was swept up into the punk community for life.
7- why are you in a band and what do you want to accomplish in said band?
As for what do I want to accomplish with my bands…they vary from band to band to be honest. Right now im in three bands that im working on pretty often. The ultimate goal I have in any of my bands is to raise awareness that even though we strive in punk to have a safer free space…we are very far from this and we need to continue to work on this. Beyond that we need to be aware that the places we live mean a lot as well and we need to work together and build stronger communities. When we were releasing the demo our band name was Life Moves at the time…and we decided to change it. We had just finished dying all of the fabric for the patches (the first 100 demos had patches included) and had to figure out the name for the screen. We had a long list and decided on Beau Navire because we liked it most out of them and it was one of Kris’ favorite Charles Baudelaire poems.
8- how did you decide upon your band’s name?Well, honestly if im not on a couch im on a floor every night. I share a room with two other people in a four bedroom house in Oakland. So when my direct roomates aren’t on tour I am just used to couches and floors and have been for years.
9- when was the last time you slept on a floor?I just have to say if anyone wants to talk to us ever please feel free to hit us up and ask about anything. We love meeting new people and making new friends all over so lets all hangout!
10- do you have anything more to say?
